HIP HOP

NOT HIP HOP

It bothers me when people bring record sales into the argument of hip-hop. Jeezy sells more than Talib.... that means he's better than Talib lyrically? Bull chit. I'm not arguing with people anymore on this topic unless they can tell me who are the members of The Cold Crush Brothers.

I dont kno who the members of The Cold Crush Brothers are, but I kno that anyone with Lil or Young before their name signals **Bull chit** indeed! =)

P.S.- The song on ur page..
**THAT'S HIP-HOP** =D

Feedback

D.R.Mami - that's ok that you don't know, the comment about the "lil or young before their name" made up for that lol. Thnx for the fb.

Andrea - thanks, I appreciate the love

Damn. You make me feel stupid. Whats wrong with Jr.Jeezy anyway? ;]

Cruz said...

Sorry Jessica, I dont mean to offend anyone. Mr. Jeezy feels that he is hip-hop due to him going platinum. You don't get crowned lyrically through album sales.

Jessica =) said...

Ok. Im not offended, Im not a fanor anything, I just dont see what the point is of who IS "Hip Hop" and who ISNT?...

I mean, when it all boils down, who comes out on Top anyway?...
Jr. Jeezys ;]

Jessica =) said...

Fan or anything^ =p

Cruz said...

On top meaning...money? Sales? That's perfectly fine, kudos to him for making all that money.

But..

You can't get upset when Nas says, "Hip hop is dead" and retaliate by saying, "I sold over a million records. Hip hop aint dead". The man is not lyrical whatsoever. Watered-down-nursery rhymes aint hip hop.

Jessica =) said...

Sheesh..okay okay =D

Good point. So ur saying that its based on his "lyrics".. fine then,
but who's to say whats "lyrical" and what isnt?

[[Dont bite my head off, just inquiries coming from a white chick lol]]

Cruz said...

no lol..don't think I have an atitude, my bad if I sound cat-y.

"I dont drink Pepsi, I just sell coke" --that was horrible

"Tell them faggot ass niggas to wrap they lips around my dick" --why would you want a fag near your dick?

Those are some of Jeezy's quotables. That second one makes me question his sexuality but for the most part...not lyrical.

What do The Cold Crush Brothers have to do with it?

Other than I feel ya! ;)

Cruz said...

Jeezy makes good trunk music, I give em' that.

Jessica =) said...

LOL!

Ur hilarious, okay >_< okay
Butttt....

What if someone found that 2 be lyrical in their own sense?
What if thats what they could relate to?
Coke-sellers and [[Homos]] alike?

P.s.- Maybe u shouldnt argue with me, I dont know The CCB! ;]

Cruz said...

The Cold Crush brothers don't have anything to do with the post. I just made that comment towards the end to people I know personally, the ones who argue with me about hip hop yet they are sheep and idolize who MTV says they should.

Cruz said...

Jessica: I'm bored at work so I don't mind bantering back and forth =P

That's fine, I'm sure there are plenty of homo's out there that sees the essence in his lyrics...............
Also, there's plenty of rappers who use coke references which are clever and orginal ...but...that coke line from Jeezy is horrible.

Sheep as in they follow the herd?

3. Thanx, I don't wanna contribute to the head aches you get from blogger lately.

Jess: I like you(r) responses ; )

My boys usually have some of his songs blastin when we go out and some have bangin beats. Idk I guess I like the beats more than the artist? =P

Be careful! There's that tuberculosis going around! =P

Cruz said...

Jess, I may come off crazy with some of my post...but im not crazy lol..

Jessica =) said...

Lol..ok. We'll see..so far u have a insatiable sexual app., & an infatuation with hip-hop..or not.
Are u into music b/c u make it as well?

Cruz said...

Hmm...I like where your head is at =P

The hip hop thing is not really an infatuation, some things about it just makes me cringe. Like the radio for instance, it's leading to the demise of lyrics and welcoming in the age of "snappy beats and hooks". I don't make music because I don't have time to devote myself fully to it. I will guest star on some of my boy Fatal's tracks when he starts recording though ; )

Jessica =) said...

Lol..
Oh okay, yes I heard about him.
His page promotes that to the fullest. I suppose u do too.

Very respectable that u wouldnt get into something u couldnt completely dedicate urself to.

But my girl and I are always complaining about the media reflecting off society. Thats why she got me into this site. Lol, she told me to check u out indefinitely.

I feel like they are feeding just the demand, can u blame them 4 giving out "bite size lyrics 4 little mouths"? [Trying 2 be metaphorical, I dont it completely rubbed onto me yet..lol]

Cruz said...

yes, definetely in Miami. They cater towards the southern crowd, "Pop lock and drop it", "2 step", "Lean with it, rock with it". Which is cool, it's funny...it can be a funny thing. But then there are those who labelize that as ...music. That's not music, it's comedy. Atleast in NY, they try to balance things out and give their local talent some air time (Saigon, Papoose, etc.). We'll never see that day down here with "Power 96"

I assume your girl is Sasha, right?

Jessica =) said...

Never heard of Power 96. But context clues lead me 2 believe its no Def Petry Jam. Lol.

&& yeah, but no [[homo]] =)
